D Transmitting a Message
The transcever has the ablty to send a pre-programmed
message.
There are 10 messages that can be sent on a channel.
q Push [Digital Button] to enter the applcaton selecton
mode.
• "VOICE" appears.
• To change the call type, push and hold [Digital Button] for 1 sec.
durng stand-by operaton. After changng, the transcever enters
the applcaton selecton mode automatcally.
w Push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select "MSG."
e Push [Digital Button] agan to enter the message selec-
ton mode.
• The pre-programmed message s dsplayed.
r Push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select the desred message.
• You can rewrte the contents of the message. See the next page
for detals.

t Push [Digital Button] agan to enter the Indvdual or Talk-
group ID selecton mode.
• The pre-programmed ID name s dsplayed.
• When ID name s not programmed, ID code s dsplayed.
• The prmarly ID can be pre-set to dsplay frst.
Ths functon s usable n transcevers whose revson number s
2.9 or later. Ask your dealer for detals.
y Push [CH Up] or [CH Down] to select the desred ID name
(or ID code).
• Dependng on the pre-settng, you can nput the ID drectly. (The
optonal HM-152T s requred.) See p. 41 for detals.

Individual or Talkgroup ID name is displayed.
u Push [PTT] to transmt the message to the selected sta-
ton or talkgroup.
• "MSG TX" s dsplayed.
i Release [PTT].
• "MSG OK" s dsplayed after recevng an acknowledgement
from the base staton.
• "MSG FAIL" s dsplayed f there s no acknowledgment from the
base staton.
o After a specfied tme perod has passed, the transcever
wll return to receve.

Dependng on the pre-settng, you can use the quck mes-
sage selecton/transmsson.
➥ Push the desred dgt key ([1] to [9] or [0]) to enter the mes-
sage selecton mode.
• The approprate message s dsplayed.
➥ Push and hold the desred dgt key ([1] to [9] or [0]) for
1 sec. to transmt the approprate message 1 to 10.
