Explanation
This is an abbreviation of bit per second.
It means the amount of data sent in 1 second as the unit of data transmission.
(Error Correction Mode: Error correction mode)
Error resend mode of G3 communication. It confirms whether the data is cor-
rectly sent to the recipient or not, and if it is not correctly sent, it communi-
cates by resending the same data. If the recipient is set for the ECM mode
and the communication is done in ECM unless ECM off is specified in this
machine.
This is the communication procedure about the usage of sub address of
T.30* standardized by ITU-T (international telecommunication union) provid-
ed by Japanese Communications Industrial Corporation. In the communica-
tion between fax with F code function, various functions that uses F code can
be used even if the maker is different. In this machine, F code is used in the
bulletin boards, relay request, relay transmissions, confidential communica-
tion, password transmission. (*Communication standard)
This is a fax communication mode standardized by the ITU-T (International
Telecommunication Union). The communication modes are G3 and G4. G3
is currently the most popularly used mode.
Abbreviation of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol. A protocol to access
the database that can manage information concerned with the environment
and the mail address of the user for using the network through the TCP/IP
network such as internet or intranet.
Push telephone line
This is a G3 communication mode standardized by ITU-T V. 34. The commu-
nication can be carried out at a higher speed (high speed 33,400bps) than
that of the usual G3 communication.
This is a communication mode used at the time of fax communication of su-
per G3. There are cases when the communication is not possible in super G3
mode depending on the telephone line conditions when the recipient's ma-
chine/ own machine is connected to a telephone line via private branch ex-
change. In such cases, it is recommended to communicate with super G3
mode is turned off by selecting the V. 34 OFF.
This function first confirms the original size which cannot be detected correct
original size due to folds, then scans and sends after verifying the correct
original size. This function can be used only when the original is scanned by
ADF.
This is a function automatically sends one original at a specified time, if the
transmission conditions such as destination, sending time, memory trans-
mission or resolution stored in the same original memory.
This is a function to communicate with an overseas recipient. If an overseas
communication mode is set, the fax is sent with a lower speed. Specifying an
overseas TX ensures the fax transmission when faxing to the location where
transmission conditions are poor, even within the country.
