Telnet A.B.C.D, (where A.B.C.D is the IP address of the device).
6. When the user is prompted for the password prompts, press Enter. If the
user has logged on correctly, the device name> prompt is displayed.
Web Interface Management
The user can manage a device from a remote location using a Web browser over an IP network
(see Figure
To manage a switch using the web interface over an IP network:
1. Ensure that the user has already connected via the console port and set up
the desired IP settings.
2. Verify that the user has the IP protocol correctly installed on the
management workstation.
3. Check that the user can communicate with the device by entering a ping
command.
4. If the user gets an error message, verify that the IP information has been
entered correctly.
5. Configure the SNMP server. For more information, please refer to the
Configuring SNMP chapter.
6. Open the Web browser.
7. In the URL locator, enter the IP address of the device that the user will
manage.
8. Use one of the following Web browsers, to display the web interface
correctly:
8. By default, there is no need to use a login password to log on to the device.
If the user has configured a password (for more information , please refer to
Login Password), type it in; if not, press Enter.
The web interface for the Switch is displayed.
