Formatting Flash Memory
The format command, in Loader Configuration mode, formats the file system and removes all
contents (including configuration settings) from flash memory, except for the system loader. Upon
restart, the loader rebuilds the system directories on flash memory.

Updating the Application Software from Loader
1. Configure boot parameters in profile (to configure any application file as a
default one, the file must be downloaded first):
Loader>config
Loader(config)#boot-param device local
2. Download the application by TFTP (it will be stored with the source name.
To change the target name, specify the name as an additional command

Information erased by the format command cannot be retrieved.
