For this test, proceed as follows:
Open the top door until the Roof Open button (see Figure 3-17) on the control panel turns

green.
Using the Roof Close button (see Figure 3-17), partially close the top door until the Roof Open

button turns blue.
Activate the Arms Up function on the joystick.

The Arms Up function should not operate above cab windshield.
If the Arms Up function still operates above cab windshield, the Top Door Fully Open proximity
4.
switch may need to be adjusted or replaced. Refer to the Limit and Proximity Switches section in
the Maintenance Manual.

Body Raised Proximity Switch

Performing this test ensures you know when the body is properly seated on the chassis. The body
should always be seated unless unloading or servicing is being performed.

Never drive the unit while the body is raised unless unloading.
MPORTANT
To perform this test:
Lower the body using the Body Down switch on the in-cab control panel. Exit the cab and

visually confirm that the body is firmly seated on the chassis.
Remove tailgate safety pins, and open the tailgate by using the Tailgate Up button on the in-cab

control panel.
: When using in-cab controls, the body will not rise unless the tailgate is OPEN. As soon as the

body reaches a certain height, a buzzer will sound and a warning message will appear on the
multiplex display screen.
Raise the body using the Body Up switch on the control panel. A Body Raised message should

appear on the multiplex display screen.
If the Body Raised message DOES NOT appear on the screen, notify your maintenance
4.
supervisor immediately. The Body Raised proximity switch may be inoperative (see Figure
2-12).
