Take up the media onto the paper pipe.

When you begin take-up, take care to ensure that the end of the media does not become rolled or creased.

2-2 Loading and Cutting Off Media
Close the front cover.
Turn on the sub power switch.
When the sub power switch lights up,
press
.
The key flashes, then remains steadily lit.
After
lights up, proceed in the sequence
indicated below. If the key doesn't light up, refer
to the following.
p 108 "The Machine Doesn't Run"
Release the stopper for the take-up dancer roller.
While supporting the take-up dancer roller with
your hand, use
to feed out the media and
take it up on the paper pipe a little at a time.
Take up the media for one turn or more.
Continue to support the dancer roller with your hand
until the take-up unit starts to take up the media. While
keeping the dancer roller flipped back toward you to
keep the media from becoming slack, feed the media
a little at a time.
When the take-up unit begins to take up the media,
release the dancer roller and feed the media a little at
a time.
After taking up the media for one turn or more, check
to make sure the two edges of the media are aligned
with the guide marks on the paper pipe.
