Narrow-width media cannot be used. / For wide media, use the reinforcement pipe.
Never use media less than 1,220 mm (48 inches) in
width. Doing so may result in incorrect media move-
ment, or malfunction or damage to the machine.
When using media having a width of 1,880 mm (74
inches) or more, make use of the reinforcement pipe.
It reduces sagging of the roll media.
When passing media through the printer, feed the media through while pressing down on it at the center.
When passing media through the printer, be sure to press
down on the media at the center with two hands and
slowly push (or pull) the media through. This is done in
order to load the media so that it lies straight with re-
spect to the direction of feed.
Never pull the left and right edges of the media. Doing
so may cause the media to be pulled out at an angle,
making it impossible to load the media so it lies
straight. Carrying out printing when the media is
loaded at an angle, as shown in the figure, may not
only cause poor printing results, but may cause the
media to become crooked or jam.
Never feed the media through using the media take-up and feed systems.
When loading media, never feed the media through us-
ing the MANUAL switch on the media take-up and feed
systems. Doing so may cause the media to become
crooked or jam.
