    1. Assembly and Ink Filling Checks before Operations WARNING Entrust operations such as transportation, unloading, and emplacement to trained professionals. Suitable equipment and technical skills are required in handling the machine. Tasks that require undue effort may re- sult in a major accident. CAUTION Unloading and emplacement are operations that must be performed by 6 persons or more.

    1. Assembly and Ink Filling Step 1: Assembling the Stand Procedure Place the caster on the stand leg. Place the stand leg with the tabletop plate (A) facing down, and then place the caster on top of the stand leg. The casters have no particular front and rear orientation. Use eight bolts to secure the caster.

Position the left and right stand legs parallel to each other and separated by approximately 1,800 mm (70.87 in.). Position the legs so that the L-shaped brackets face the inside and the side of the tabletop plate with the hole (A) faces down for each leg.
  • Page 15 1. Assembly and Ink Filling Fully tighten the bolts in the four locations indicated with B. Tighten the bolts securely. Loose bolts may cause the stand to wobble. Set the stand upright. IMPORTANT Be sure to perform this operation with two workers, each one holding one stand leg. If only one worker per- forms this operation, the stand stay may bend.

    1. Assembly and Ink Filling Step 2: Attaching the Printer Unit and the Stand Procedure With six or more workers, lift up the printer unit. CAUTION Unpacking and installation must be carried out by 6 persons or more. Failure to observe this instruction may cause the machine to fall over, resulting in injury. Move the stand under the printer unit.
  • Page 17 1. Assembly and Ink Filling Align the surface of the printer unit (A) and the center position of the rhombus mark (B) on the stand as seen from the inside to the outside. (Align the front and rear sides.) Place the printer unit on the stand. IMPORTANT Be sure to have workers support the printer unit until the temporary tightening of bolts in step 6.
  • Page 18 1. Assembly and Ink Filling Secure the printer unit on the stand. Lift the back of the printer up slightly to make it level. Temporarily tighten the eight bolts. Fully tighten the eight bolts. Move to the rear of the machine, and remove the four bolts while gently supporting the subtank (A). Slowly release your hand from the subtank.

Tighten the bolts in the holes on the side of the stand until you can see approximately 5 mm (0.2 in.) of their threads (A).

Make sure the protrusion on the stand leg (A) is in the center of the hole on arm A (B). Move arm A to the left and right until this protrusion is centered.
  • Page 21 1. Assembly and Ink Filling 2. Attach the media holders. Procedure Place the two shafts on the arms. Pass the rear shaft through the two media stays. Attach the left media holder. Pass the front shaft through the left media holder. Catch the left media holder on the rear shaft.
  • Page 22 1. Assembly and Ink Filling Raise the levers (A) to secure the left and right media holders. Position the media holders approximately 100 mm (3.94 in.) from the edges. Attach the shaft clamps, securing the shafts with two bolts. MEMO Ensure the media holders do not get caught in the shaft clamps.

Tighten the bolts in the holes on the side of the stand until you can see approximately 5 mm (0.2 in.) of their threads (A).

Place the extension apron on the inner side of the arm. With the insulating material facing the machine side, insert the extension apron into the inner side of arm B from the bottom.

Push the insulating materials all the way to the back. Temporarily attach the extension cover. Temporarily tighten two bolts to the lowermost screw holes in arm B. Connect the two power cables for the dryer controller. Connect the two power cables while the switch is turned off. Secure the two power cables with the clamp.
