6 • System Options
Phone Parameters
This menu option allows you to modify the phone connection settings
on your machine (dial prefix, etc.)
Selecting Tone/Pulse
Use this to tell the system whether your exchange requires tone or
pulse dialling.
NOTE: Almost all exchanges worldwide are now equipped to handle
tone dialling.
1. Press Options.
2. Press Page Down twice.
3. Select "Connect-Data Centre".
4. Select "Phone Parameters".
5. Select "Tone/Pulse".
6. Select Tone or Pulse, whichever is appropriate. In either case
you return to the Data Centre menu.
8. Press Clear (back arrow key) to return to Options menu.
Entering the Dial Prefix
Use this if you need to dial a prefix number (like 9) to get an outside
line.
1. Press Options.
2. Press Page Down twice.
3. Select "Connect-Data Centre".
4. Select "Phone Parameters".
5. Select "Dialling Prefix".
6. Key in the prefix number you want (such as a "9").
NOTE: You can use the decimal point (.) to insert a pause after
the dial prefix, if required by your exchange.
7. Select "OK". You return to the Data Centre menu.
8. Press Clear (back arrow key) to return to Options menu.
