SYMPTOM
Air conditioning system
too noisy. (continued)
Air conditioning cools
intermittently.
Windows fog up.

Engine

Engine hard to start or
will not start.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
PROBLEM
Excessive moisture in
system.
Compressor clutch
slipping.
Unit icing up due to:
· thermostat adjusted
too low.
· excessive moisture in
system.
· incorrect super-heat
adjustment in expansion
valve.
Thermostat defective.
Defective blower switch
or blower motor.
Partially open, improper
ground, or loose
connection in
compressor clutch coil.
High humidity.
Controls not in neutral.
Header drive idler not
pivoted against stop to
close neutral switch.
Neutral lock
misadjusted.
No fuel to engine.
Old fuel in tank.

SOLUTION
Replace receiver-drier,
evacuate & charge
system.
Slippage over a pro-
longed period will re-
quire removing clutch
for service. May require
adjustment for proper
spacing.
· Adjust thermostat.
· Replace receiver-drier.
· Replace expansion
valve.
Replace thermostat.
Remove defective part
for service or replace.
Check connections or
remove clutch coil for
service or replacement.
Run A/C to dehumidify
air and heater to control
temperature.
• Move variable speed
lever to neutral.
• Move steering wheel to
locked position.
• Disengage header
clutch.
Remove key from
ignition. From under
tractor, push up on idler
to complete pivot travel,
closing neutral switch.
Check neutral lock.
Fill empty fuel tank,
replace clogged filters.
Drain tank, refill with
fresh fuel.
