ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSTICS (DC)
PROBLEM
No DC (12 volt) power
Battery not charging (engine run-
ning)
Battery will not hold charge
12 volt equipment not working
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Battery switch in "off " position
Weak or dead battery
Loose belt
Faulty alternator
Faulty volt meter
Faulty or old battery
Equipment switch in "off " position Switch to "on"position
Circuit breaker/fuse blown
Weak or dead battery
Corroded connection
Loose wire
Internal equipment short

POSSIBLE FIX
Turn selector switch to "on" posi-
tion,
Charge or replace battery
Tighten belt
Repair/replace alternator
Replace volt meter
Replace battery; use exact replace-
ment
Reset breaker. Replace fuse.
Replace battery
Eliminaate corrosion
Tighten connection
Replace equipment component
