Using barcodes

You can scan a barcode for each new dictation. The
detected codes are stored in the header of a DSS file in the
"Topic" field, and thus displayed in the note which accom-
panies the dictation. Other programs which evaluate the
DSS header (for example a database system), can classify
the dictations using the codes.
The scanned codes can then be displayed or automati-
cally processed by software that analyzes the DSS header
– e.g. a database system.
The detected codes are displayed by the PC software
supplied with the portable dictation machine and by the
desktop software:
– in the overview of the accompanying note for the
dictation (see also "Dictation accompanying note" in
the program help)
– in the dictation list (if the "Topic" field is enabled, see
"Sorting" in the program help).
Note:
We offer a software development kit (SDK) for integra-
tors who want to evaluate the note accompanying the
dictation, for example in order to create links to data-
base entries.
