4. Shading (undesired color line removal)

• This adjustment removes white or color undesired lines caused by dirt after performing shading (white
correction).
• Set DIP switch 2 on the scanner to "ON".
• Prepare two undesired color line removal check papers (gray and beige/white).
(1) Clean the scanner glass, document table, and document hold-down unit. Start the software and open the
"Adjust Scanner" window.
(2) Place the beige/white paper in the center of the document table.
(3) Select "Density Adjustment" from the "Adjust" menu.

The following dialog box will appear: Click the "Grayscale" check box to remove the check mark.

Click the "Scan" button. The following dialog box will appear.
Select the following for "Document Info" and "Scan Settings":
"Document Info" Document Type: Black and White, Paper Size: User Size,
"Scan Settings"

Output: 24-bit color, Gamma: 100, Brightness: 50, Contrast: 50
