5.31 Thread regulator spring

Tension standard:
•
Thread an approx. 30cm long thread into thread regulator.
•
Attach the two thread ends to the BERNINA balance spring gauge (006 038 5000). (same as checking
the top tension)
•
Slowly pull the gauge down.
•
The check spring must start to move when the value is between 12-15g.
Note:
Check if the gauge is set to zero (calibrated).
Correction of tension:
•
Turn screw (113) to left or right to tighten or slacken tension.
Checking correct position:
•
The thread regulator spring (114) must lie on the limiter piece (115).
•
There must be a distance of 1.6mm (+/-0.3mm) between spring and cover at the same time
(see drawing).
Correcting the position:
•
Slightly loosen securing screw (116). Adjust eccentric as appropriate until it serves as a support for the
spring and with a distance of 1.6 mm
•
Retighten securing screw (116).
