7.3 Update – alternative access
Note:
If the update can not be carried out in setup, or if the sewing/embroidery
computer fails to reboot, an alternative access is provided.
Loss of data:
If the sewing/embroidery system fails to reboot (e.g. due to not
recognizing the firmware), the data saved by the customer can
not be stored any more. However, the machine-related data in
EEPROM (e.g. hours and stitch counter) remain saved.
1. Connect BERNINA USB data stick containing update data.
Select test 1g (save the customer settings) in the service
program. The data is read to the USB data stick.
2. Switch sewing/embroidery computer off.
3. Keep the needle positioning and pattern end keys pressed at
the same time and switch sewing/embroidery computer on.
4. The application checks the update files on the USB data
stick.
5. Before proceeding you are asked whether the data is saved.
If yes, start process by pressing the two needle positioning
keys simultaneously. If the machine data has not been
saved yet, stop the updating process by switching off the
sewing/embroidery computer. Return to point one.
6. After updating, the sewing/embroidery computer starts in
normal mode.
The tests below must be carried out/checked in the service program.
Test 1b to check firmware version.
Test 4f to calibrate speed.
Test 2a to calibrate touch screen.
Test 5c to calibrate buttonhole.
Test 5b to check balance
