5.9 Straight stitch needle position (needle distribution)

Standard:
•
In service program basic setting, select test 4e (p. 83).
•
Stitch width stepping motor
must be in pinning position
(72a). If necessary, adjust this
first.
•
Switch machine off ("0").
•
Pin stitch width stepping
motor.
•
The needle must be in the
center of the stitch plate.
Check:
•
Set maximum stitch width.
•
The needle mustn't touch the
right or left side of the stitch
plate.
•
Note: It is necessary to use a
9mm sensor
presser foot for the 9mm
stitch width on the artista 640.
Correction:
•
Slightly loosen securing screw (71).
•
Use eccentric key (001361.70.00) in cut-out (72) to adjust needle bar support until the prescribed
needle position in the stitch plate is reached.
•
Retighten screw (71).

5.10 Stitch width limiter

Standard:
•
Power machine. Set to maximum stitch width.
Needle bar support
•
in needle position left and right must be equally
distributed in the limiter (171).
•
It is necessary to use a 9mm sensor presser foot
for the 9mm stitch width on the artista 640.
Correction:
•
Loosen screw (172) and move stop (171) as appropriate to avoid that the needle bar support touches
the limiter (171).
•
The needle bar support must not hit the stitch plate in either position, left or right.
•
Retighten screw (172).
