5.7 Presser foot height

Standard:
•
Drop feed-dog. Attach presser foot no. 1
•
Raise presser foot lifter lever.
•
Use 7.5mm presser-foot height gauge (86) to
check height.
Correction
•
Remove adjusting wheel lock (161).
•
Remove carefully the adjusting wheel (162) so
that the spring loaded pressure lever remains
in place.
•
Raise lifter lever.
•
Loosen presser-foot bar guide screw (64).
•
Place presser foot on gauge (86),
keeping it parallel to markings on stitch
plate.
•
Press presser-foot bar down by hand.
•
Retighten screw (64).
•
Refit adjusting wheel (162). Make sure the
pressure lever fits into the spring, into the
potentiometer and the guide of the
adjusting wheel.
•
Refit adjusting wheel lock (161). Check
functioning.

5.8 Darning foot height

Standard:
•
Attach darning foot no. 9 or drop-shaped
foot no. 26.
•
Drop feed-dog.
•
Turn the handwheel until the presser-foot bar reaches its lowest position.
•
Use gauge (87) to check distance (0.5 mm) between stitch plate and darning
foot sole.
Correction:
•
Remove adjusting wheel lock (161).
•
Remove carefully the adjusting wheel (162) so that the spring loaded pressure
lever remains in place.
•
Pin loop lift position on balance piece (darning foot at lowest position).
•
Loosen screw (88) on hopper mechanism lever.
•
Move presser foot bar up or down, as appropriate to correct the level.
•
Create the distance of 0.5mm by lifting up the presser foot as shown
•
Use gauge (87) to check correct level.
•
Tighten screw (88) (note cam position).
•
Refit adjusting wheel (162). Make sure the pressure lever fits into
the spring, into the potentiometer and the guide of the adjusting wheel.
•
Refit adjusting wheel lock (161). Check functioning.
