[.] (period): Indicates drop-frame
mode.

mode (factory default).

4 VITC data field mark
[ ] (blank): Display of fields 1 and 3
[ * ] (asterisk): Display of fields 2

5 Recorder/player selection
The indication changes depending on
the status of the RECORDER/
PLAYER indicators.
No display: When the RECORDER
and PLAYER indicators are both
not lit.
P: The PLAYER indicator is lit.
R: The RECORDER indicator is lit.
6 Operating mode
The display is divided into blocks A,
B, and C, shown in the figure below.
Block A: Operating mode
Block B: Servo lock status or tape
speed
Block C: The x mark, indicating an
auto editing segment
