Safety information

Dangerous electrical voltage
After disconnecting all the supply voltages, a hazardous voltage will be present in all
components for another 5 minutes. Work may not be carried out on the components until
after this time has elapsed.
Before starting work, you should also measure the voltage after the 5 minutes have
elapsed. The voltage can be measured on DC-link terminals DCP and DCN.
Danger notice in the local language
The DC-link discharge voltage hazard warning must be affixed to the modules in the local
language.
Risk of fire and damage to equipment due to short-circuit / ground fault
The cables to the braking resistor must be routed so that a ground fault or short-circuit can
be ruled out. A ground fault can result in fire with smoke.
• Protect the cables from mechanical damage.
• Comply with local installation regulations that enable this fault to be ruled out.
In addition, apply one of the following measures:
• Use cables with double insulation.
• Maintain adequate clearance, using spacers, for example.
• Route the cables in separate cable ducts or pipes.
Note
Use only released braking resistors
If braking resistors are used that have not been released by SIEMENS for SINAMICS, then
the braking resistors could be destroyed.
