8. Once the calibration is complete, one of two messages will be displayed:
a. "N.I.S.T. calibration passed" – indicates that the calibration was successful. With that message
b. "Calibration out of Tolerances" - indicates that the calibration failed. The calibration can be

"Show/Clear Offset".
10. To leave the "N.I.S.T. Calibration"-Menu press the return button.
Resending the N.I.S.T. module for validation
The N.I.S.T. module which should be used for the calibration of the sensing electronics should be
validated at least yearly. The validation date of the module is stated on its validation certificate.
After the expiration of the prior validation the module can be send back. For this please contact your
local distributor or Technical Service Contact.

the new N.I.S.T. offsets are automatically saved and will be used for all resistivity calculations.
To view the determined offsets, access the submenu "Show Offset"
i. To confirm the result select "OK".
ii. After this confirmation the "N.I.S.T. Calibration"-Menu will appear and you can navigate
back to the main menu.

temperature deviation is larger than 0.67 °C. The current calibration values will be shown in
the text message. These values will not be saved.

Note Causes of calibration failures include:
• Expired N.I.S.T. Module E1403X5, the last validation of the module is more than one
year ago. To correct this, repeat the calibration with a validated N.I.S.T. module.
• Usage of any other module other than E1403X5. To correct this, repeat the calibration
with the correct N.I.S.T. module.
• During the calibration process, the module was unplugged (repeat the calibration
procedure).
