WARNING AND CAUTION

Here are some general warnings and precautions that should be closely observed during carrying out any service operation.
But always exercise care to reduce the risk of personal injury or damage to the vehicle.
WARNING
Do not work on the engine compartment while engine, radiator,
muffler and catalytic converter are hot. Always turn the engine off
and allow it to cool before starting the maintenance.
Never get under the vehicle while it is supported by a jack. If it is
necessary to work under the vehicle, use safety stands.
Keep smoking materials, flames and sparks away from the battery
and all fuel and fuel-related parts.
Never connect or disconnect either the battery or any transistorized
component while the ignition switch is ON.
When connecting the battery cables, pay special attention to their
polarities.
Remember that the battery, ignition cables and vehicle wiring carry
high currents and voltage. Be careful not to cause a short circuit.
When performing any checks in an enclosed space with the engine
running, such as in a garage, make sure there is proper ventilation.
Keep used oil, coolant and other fluids out of reach of children and
pets.
For vehicle inspection, place the shift lever in P position and apply
the parking brake.
To avoid the possibility of injury from the cooling fan, disconnect the
negative terminal of battery so that the fan is not operating.

CAUTION
Check any oils and coolant level at regular intervals.
Operating with insufficient amount of oil or coolant can damage
the engine and so it is not covered by warranty.
Always use only Ssangyong genuine parts for replacement.
Do not allow oil and coolant contact with skin, clothes, or painted
surface of the vehicle during refilling. If skin contact happens, rinse
the affected area immediately with plenty of water and consult a
doctor.
Do not overfill the oil and coolant. The system may be damaged.
The performance of oil and coolant may be deteriorated when they
exposed to dust and moisture. Be careful not to contact with dust
while refilling.
The oil and coolant could be spoiled after an extended period of
time or with short travel distance. In such a case, consult the
Ssangyong Dealer or Ssangyong Authorized Workshop.
Empty or used oil and fluid containers must not be disposed of in
the household waste. Use your local authorized waste disposal fa-
cilities when disposing of them.
