For ES/6600, the HA OAM Network and HA Control Network are GbE
copper links and the HA Media Network is up to 3 GbE copper aggregated
links.

SDH/SONET Network Connections (future)

For the Avaya G860 Media Gateway STM-1/OC-3 configuration, to prepare for
connecting the gateway to the PSTN network, be sure to investigate the type and the
topology of the provided links and follow the checks listed below.
1.
Verify that the provided link is behind the Add-Drop Multiplexer (ADM).
2.
Investigate SONET/SDH configuration parameters.
3.
Verify that there is a concatenated framing format variant (such as OC-3C)
defined for the ATM links. It allows utilizing the frame for ATM packet transfer
with a single overhead for the multiplexed streams.
4.
Investigate the multiplexing hierarchy of the provided PSTN links. It should be
configured the same as the gateway's links. Note that Avaya G860 Media
Gateway provides one mux hierarchy (or multiplexing method) each for SONET
and SDH. You can choose one of them without changing the multiplexing.
5.
Investigate APS (Automatic Protection Switching) capabilities of the connected
ATM/PSTN equipment. Check the:
