Introduction

Connecting the media gateways

In this stage, you connect the media gateways to the server complex through Ethernet cables.
You also program the IP Server Interface (IPSI) circuit packs during this stage. Before you can
complete this stage, the G650 Media Gateway must be installed and the server complex must
be operational.

Connecting to the customer's network

You can perform this stage anytime. But to allow testing along the way, connect to the customer
network after you cable the media gateways and connect the gateways to the media server
complex.

Installing and wiring telephones

In this stage, you wire, place, and test the telephones. In most cases, the configuration must be
operational and responsive before you can perform this stage. An exception exists for IP
telephones that are connected to the network, which you can place before you complete the
installation. When you install wiring for traditional telephones and analog or digital consoles,
ensure that you install the telephones when you can also test the telephones.
