Avaya G250 and G350 Media Gateways - Issue 1.0

Avaya G250 and G350 Media Gateways support the backup and restore operations in Release

4.0 of Avaya Communication Manager. The backup operation can back up configurations and

other files to a backup directory on a USB flash drive. When the Avaya G250 or G350 Media

Gateway is replaced, the Media Gateway can be restored from a USB flash drive. These

Application Notes present detailed information on how to perform the backup and restore

operations.

Page 3 Figure 2 summarizes the Media Gateway Backup/Restore Directory Structure, which is created when a backup is performed. When the Avaya Media Gateway is configured as a TFTP server for the Avaya 4600 IP telephones, the related TFTP files must be placed under the sub-directory IPPHONE.

The Avaya G350 will copy the files into the appropriate directories shown in Figure 2. The following screen shows that startup_config.cfg and vpn_license-file.cfg are copied to the backup-G350 directory.
