STEP 13 Install the ProtectorSystem® HARDWARE

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE SAFETYREVERSING SENSORS
Thesafety reversing sensorsmustbe connectedandaligned correctly beforethe garagedoor
openerwillmove in thedowndirection.
The sendingsensor(withan amber LED)transmitsan invisiblelightbeamto the receivingsensor (witha
green LED).Ifan obstructionbreaksthe lightbeamwhilethe door is closing,the door willstop and
reverseto thefull open position,and thegarage door opener lightswillflash 10times.
NOTE: For energyefficiencythe garage door opener willenter s/eepmodewhenthe door is fu//y
closed.Thesleep modeshutsthegarage door openerdownunti/ activated.Thesleepmodeis
sequencedwiththegarage door opener/ightbu/b;as the/ightbu/b turnsoffthesensorLEOswillturn off
and wheneverthegarage door openerlightsturn on thesensorLEOswilllight. Thegarage door opener
willnot go into thesleep modeuntil thegarage door openerhas completed5 cyclesuponpower up.
NOTE: Wheninstalling thesafety reversing sensorscheck thefollowing:
• Sensorsare installedinside thegarage,one on eitherside ofthe door.
• Sensorsare facingeach otherwiththe lensesalignedand receivingsensorlensdoes not
receivedirectsunlight.
• Sensorsare no morethan6 inches(15 cm)abovethe floorand the lightbeamis
unobstructed.

The safety reversing sensors can be attached to the door track, the wall, or the floor. The sensors should
be no more than 6 inches (15 cm) above the floor. If the door track will not support the sensor bracket a
wall installation is recommended. Choose one of the following installations.
DOOR TRACK INSTALLATION
1. Slide the curvedarmsof the sensorbracketaroundthe edgeof the door track.Snap into place
so thatthesensorbracketis flushagainstthe track.
2. Slide the carriagebolt into the sloton each sensor.
3. Insertthebolt throughthe hole in thesensorbracketandattachwiththewing nut.The lenses
on bothsensorsshouldpointtoward eachother.Makesure thelens is notobstructedbythe
sensor bracket.
