STEP 10 Install the door control
To preventpossibleSERIOUSINJURYor DEATHfrom electrocution:
• Besurepower is NOTconnectedBEFOREinstallingdoor control.
• ConnectONLYto 12VOLT lowvoltagewires.
To preventpossibleSERIOUSINJURYor DEATHfrom a closinggaragedoor:
Install d oor control w ithinsight ofgarage door,out of reachofchildrenat a minimumheightof 5
feet(1.5 m),and awayfrom ALL movingpartsofdoor.
NEVERpermitchildrento operateor playwithdoor controlpush buttonsor remotecontrol
transmitters.
Activatedoor ONLYwhen itcan be seenclearly,is properly adjusted,andthere are no
obstructions to door travel.
ALWAYS keepgarage door in sightuntilcompletely closed. NEVERpermitanyoneto crosspath
of closinggaragedoor.

upto 2 MyQ ® door controls.NOTE:Older Chamberlaindoorcontrolsandthirdpartyproductsare not
compatible.
Install t he door controlwithinsightof the doorat a minimumheightof 5feet (1.5m) wheresmallchildren
cannotreach,and awayfromthe movingpartsofthe door.Forgang box installationsitis notnecessary
to drill holesor install t he drywallanchors.Usethe existingholes inthe gang box.

1. Strip 7/16inch(11 mm) of insulation from one endofthe wireand separatethe wires.
2. Connectone wireto each ofthe twoscrewson the backofthe door control.The wirescan be
connectedto eitherscrew.Ifyourgarage is pre-wiredfor thedoor controlchooseany two
wiresto connect, n otewhichwiresare used sothe correctwiresare connectedto thegarage
door openerin a laterstep.
3. Markthe locationofthe bottommountinghole and drill a 5/32inch (4 mm)hole.
4. Install t he bottomscrew,allowing 1/8 inch(3 mm)to protrudefrom thewall.
5. Positionthe bottomhole ofthe door controloverthe screwand slidedowninto place.
6. Liftthe pushbar up andmarkthe top hole.
7. Removethedoor control f rom thewall and drill a 5/32 inch(4 mm) hole for thetop screw.
8. Positionthe bottomhole ofthe door controloverthe screwand slidedowninto place.Attach
the top screw.
