2. Adjusting the needle thread trimmer
WARNING :
To protect against possible personal injury due to abrupt start of the machine, be sure to start the fol-
lowing work after turning the power off and ascertaining that the motor is at rest.

(1) Adjusting the thread grasping force of the
needle thread trimmer
If the needle thread trmmer fals to provde conss-
tent thread graspng force, the needle thread can
slp off at the begnnng of sewng.
) If the thread graspng force of the needle thread
trmmer has reduced, loosen setscrews 1 and
detach needle thread trmmer 2 .
2) Slghtly bend the top end of thread presser
sprng 3 so that t comes n contact wth thread
trmmng blade of upper knfe 4 over the length
wth no clearance and so that the needle thread
trmmer securely holds the thread regardless
of the poston of the thread trmmng blade at
whch the thread s trmmed.

(2) Adjusting the height of the needle thread
trimmer
To adjust the heght of the needle thread trmmer,
loosen setscrew 1 . Set the heght of trmmer as low
as possble, provded that t does not touch work
clamp check, n order to mnmze the length of re-
manng thread on the needle after trmmng.
Note that the work clamp check tlts when sewng
a mult-layered porton of the materal, attach the
needle thread trmmer to slghtly rase the nstallng
poston of the trmmer.

When replacing the needle thread trim-
mer, make sure that the trimmer nor-
mally works under the needle thread
trimmer adjusting mode (memory switch
level 2 : K51).
