The Mini-IEEE 1394 port only supports SELF POWERED IEEE 1394 devices.

Consumer Infrared Transceiver (Optional with TV Tuner)

The remote control unit, supplied with the optional TV Tuner, may be used to
control the tuner functions through this transceiver.

Mini-IEEE 1394 Port

This port allows high-speed connection to various peripheral devices, e.g. ex-
ternal disk drives and digital cameras (see note above).
