Procedure 4-24 Shutting down to shutdown for reconfig [management processor]
To use the MP to shut down an nPartition to a shutdown for reconfig (inactive) state, do the
following:
1.
Log in to the MP and enter CM to access the MP Command menu.
2.
At the MP Command menu, enter the RR command, specify which nPartition is to be reset,
and confirm whether to reset it to the shutdown for reconfig state.
The MP RR command resets all cells in the nPartition, performs any nPartition
reconfigurations, and halts all cells at a boot-is-blocked state, thus making the nPartition
and all its cells inactive.
Be certain to select the correct nPartition to reset.
GSP:CM> RR
This command resets for reconfiguration the selected partition.

If you access the MP using a single-partition-user account, the RR command selects which
nPartition is to be reset: the nPartition that your account allows you to access.
If you use an operator or administrator account, you can select which nPartition in the server
complex you want to reset.
3.
To exit the MP Command menu, enter MA to return to the MP Main Menu.
At the Main Menu, enter X to exit the MP interface.
Procedure 4-25 Shutting down to shutdown for reconfig [EFI Shell]
To use the EFI Shell environment to shut an nPartition down to a shutdown for reconfig (inactive)
state, to the following:
1.
Access the EFI Shell environment for the nPartition that you want to shut down to a shutdown
for reconfig (inactive) state.
a.
Log in to the MP and enter CO to access the Console list.
b.
Select the nPartition console.
c.
Confirm that you are at the EFI Boot Manager menu (the main EFI menu).
If you are at another EFI menu, select Exit from the submenus until you return to the
screen with the EFI Boot Manager heading.
2.
From the EFI Boot Manager menu, select EFI Shell to access the EFI Shell environment.
3.
From the EFI Shell environment, issue the reconfigreset command to reset the local
nPartition to a shutdown for reconfig state.
The reconfigreset command resets all cells in the nPartition, performs any nPartition
reconfigurations, and halts all cells at a boot-is-blocked state, thus making the nPartition
and all its cells inactive.
