Replacing the Fuser

CAUTION:
A CAUTION indicates a potential for property damage, personal injury, or death.
CAUTION:
To prevent electric shock, always turn off the printer and disconnect the power cable from
the grounded outlet before performing maintenance.
CAUTION:
Before performing any of the following procedures, read and follow the safety instructions in
your Product Information Guide.
NOTICE:
To protect the drums of the print cartridges against bright light, close the front cover within five minutes.
If the front cover remains open for more than five minutes, print quality may deteriorate.
NOTE:
Remove any print jobs from the center output tray, and close the multipurpose feeder (MPF) before opening
the front cover.

Removing the Used Fuser

CAUTION:
To avoid burns, do not replace the fuser immediately after printing, as the fuser gets very
hot during this process.
1. Turn off the printer and wait for 30 minutes for the fuser to cool down before removal.
2. Push the side button and open the front cover.
3. Lift the chute gate to its upright position.
