Chapter 2: Using the Process Assistant

About the Software Repository
A Windows Installer package is made up of many files that are executed when the setup is run. However, only the
file is imported into the Application Catalog database. To safeguard these additional files against alteration or
.msi
being misplaced, you can choose to manage these files using the Software Repository. When you import a
package into the Software Repository, all of its associated installation files are stored in the Software Repository
location defined for the open Application Catalog.
If you want to add a file you are importing to the Software Repository, select the Add package to the Software
Repository option on the
Application Catalog that has the Software Repository enabled. See

packages in the process of being prepared for distribution.
After you have selected a package, you can use it in the Validation, Best Practices, Detect Conflicts, Resolve
