Testing Windows Installer Packages for Virtualization Compatibility
A Rule must have at least one Fingerprint child element.
If a rule has more than one Fingerprint child element they are logically OR'd. Therefore, if any one of the
Fingerprints is satisfied, then the Action will be executed.
Note the following about the Fingerprint element:
Logical
are logically AND'd. Thus every child element must exist in the package in order for the Fingerprint to be
satisfied.
Empty

File/Registry attributes are used as matching
satisfied, only the attribute specified in the File or Registry child element will be used as matching criteria. For
example, if you define a Registry child element with only the type="REG_SZ" attribute, then that item will be
satisfied if there are any registry entries in the package with that type string. Similarly, if you define a File child
element with only the name="*.cpl" attribute, then that item will be satisfied if there are any files with a .cpl
extension in your entire package.
Default attribute values are not
