The SLM command sets the left margin, as measured from the left edge limit of the
paper in the unit value designated by the UNIT command.
If the margin is moved to the right of the current cursor position, the cursor moves to the
new margin.
When the left margin is moved to the right, the right margin does not change. But when
the left margin is moved toward the left, the right margin moves with it, keeping a
constant page width. To move the left margin to the left but leave the right margin in its
original position, you must add an SRM command after the SLM command to restore the
original right margin.
