<Energy Save> key and energy save mode
When the machine has been idle for a long period of time, the energy save mode will activate to
reduce the consumption power. The energy save mode consists of the "Low power mode" and the
"Sleep mode", which reduces more power. The <Energy Save> key is used to activate or release
the energy save mode.
Low power mode
· When the <Energy Save> key is pressed, the touch screen and the various lamps are turned off and the printer
enters the rest state (Low power mode) to reduce power.
· If the machine is not used for 15 minutes, it will automatically enter the low power mode. This value can
be changed by setting the transfer time from the energy save mode to the low power mode in the device
management setting. (page 5-33)
· The <Energy Save> key illuminates in green when the machine is in the low power mode.
· When any key or the touch screen is pressed while in the low power mode, the machine will "wake-up" and
return to the normal standby state.
Sleep mode
· Press and hold the <Energy Save> key for three seconds to put the machine in the sleep mode.
· When the machine stays in the low power mode for one hour, it will automatically enter the sleep mode. This
value can be changed by setting the transfer time from the energy save mode to the low power mode in the
device management setting. (page 5-33)
· When in the sleep mode, all power is turned off, but the documents scanned into memory can be transmitted
and received documents can be printed.
*The number of reception ring becomes more than the set number in the sleep mode.
· The <Energy Save> key illuminates in red when the machine is in the sleep mode.
· When the <Energy Save> key is pressed in the sleep mode, the machine returns to the normal standby state.
· The time to cancel or start the energy save mode can be set. (Delayed transmission in the energy save mode:

Note
The energy save mode does not activate when all paper runs out, the printing error such as paper jam occurs, paper in the
bypass tray runs out while bypass copying, or the optional reception lamp illuminates or blinks.
