CTech™ SoloVPE® PLUS System
User Guide
5. System Overview
The CTech™ SoloVPE® PLUS System hardware is composed of several integrated components.
5.1 SoloVPE PLUS Instrument
The SoloVPE PLUS instrument measures sample concentration using absorbance spectroscopy and a derivation of the Beer-Lambert
law. Light enters the instrument through the Delivery Fiber (shown in Figure 2) and passes through the Fibrette® Optical Component
(shown in Figure 3) into the sample. The transmitted light is collected by the detector, which is below the sample port. The position
of the Fibrette determines the optical pathlength, which is used to calculate concentration using the Slope Spectroscopy® method.
Please see Appendix 2 | The Derivation of the Slope Spectroscopy Equation for more details on Slope Spectroscopy. See Appendix 3
| SoloVPE PLUS Pathlength Defined for further explanation of the optical pathlength.
