    User Guide > Introducing Captaris FaxPress Introducing Captaris FaxPress Faxing with the Captaris FaxPress allows faxes to be sent right from your PC, in less than one-tenth of the time it takes to use a standalone fax machine. More secure than e-mail, computer-based faxing is ideal for handling business-critical and potentially sensitive in- formation.

    About Citrix MetaFrame The Citrix MetaFrame add-on package is installed after your NT or 2000 server has the terminal server option enabled. The Citrix MetaFrame application provides Microsoft’s Windows Terminal Server with additional server and client functionality by allowing any client, no matter what operating system, to connect to a Windows Terminal Server and run a Windows application through their browser.

    FaxPress supports native attachment faxing for most common applications. This means that for many applications you do not need to do a print from the document, you do not need to even have the application opened. In this sense it is very much like attaching a document when sending email.

    Local Phone Books can contain either FaxPress Phone Books or Database Phone Books. You do not have to be logged in to the FaxPress to create or manage local phone books because they are stored on and accessed from your local workstation.
