AMPLITUDE 1 f!A
OFFSET ZERO
NUMBER OF STEPS 10
78. Adjust the AMPLITUDE switch for a display of the
characteristic curves with the emitter grounded and the cur-
rent steps applied to the base (see Fig. 2-19A).

79. Set the LEFT-OFF-RIGHT switch to OFF and the
STEP FAMILY button to OFF. Take a patch cord with
banana plugs on each end and connect it between the STEP
GEN OUTPUT connector and the EXT BASE OR EMIT
INPUT connector.
80. Set the following Type 576 controls to:
STEPFAMILY ON
LEFT-OFF-RIGHT
Terminal Selector
RIGHT
BASE TERM OPEN
(OR EXT)
Note a display similar to that seen in step 78.
81. Set the following Type 576 controls to:
VERTICAL 1 nA EMITTER
MODE
VARIABLE COLLEC-
TOR SUPPLY
STEP FAMILY
Remove the patch cord.
LEAKAGE
Fully Counterclockwise
