2. Loosen th e two ca pt ive sc rews wh ich hold th e cover
onto t he voltage select or assem bly , th en pull t o remove th e
cover .
3. T o convert from 11 5-vo lt to 230-vo lt lin e vo lt age or
v ice versa , Du ll ou t th e V oltage Se lect or sw itch bar (sec F ig.
2- 1 ); t urn it 180° and iJi ug it back into the rema ining holes.
Change th e line-co rd power plug to mat ch the rower -sou rce
receptac le or usc a 11 5-t o-230-vo lt power p lug adapter .
4. T o change reg ul at ing ranges , pu ll out t he Ra nge Se-
lector sw it ch bar (see Fig. 2-1) slide it t o th e desired pos i-
ti on and plug it back in. Se lect a range w hich is centered
about the average li ne voltage t o w h ich the instru ment is t o
be connect ed (sec Tab le 2-1 ).
5. Re- inst all the cover and ti ghten the two capti ve
screws.
6. To co nvert from operat ion w ith 60 H7 li ne frequency
to operat ion w it h 50 H; line frequ ency (or vice versa) , slide
the 60 H7-50 Hz switch (sec Fig. 2- 1) t o th e posit ion w hi ch
co incides w ith th e li ne freq uency being used.
7. Befo re app lying power to the instru ment, check that
th e indi ca ting tabs on th e sw itch bars are protruding
through th e correct hol es in th e vo ltage se lector assembly
cover f or th e des ired line vo ltag e and regu lating range .
CAUTION
The Type 576 should not be operated with the Volt-
age Selector switch or the Range Selector switch in
the wrong position for the line voltage applied .
Operation of the instrument with either of these
switches in the wrong position will cause incorrect
operation and may damage the instrument.
CONTROLS, CONNECTORS AND READOUT
A ll contro ls and co nnect ors required f or normal opera-
t ion of the T y pe 576 are locat ed on the front and rea r
panels of the instrument and o n the front panel of the
standard test f ixture (see F igs. 2-2 and 2-3 ). In additi on,
readout of some of the instrument fun ct ions has been pro-
vid ed on the front panel. Fam i I iar it y with the fun cti on an d
use of each of th ese contro ls, co nnect ors and th e readout is
necessary f or effect ive operat ion of th e instrument. The
f unct ions are described in the f o ll owin g t ab le.
