6-11 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
INSPECTION
IGNITION COIL PRIMARY VOLTAGE
e Remove the spark plug cap.
e Connect a new spark plug to the spark plug and ground it to
the cylinder head.
NOTE :
Make sure that the spark 'plug cap and spark plug are
connected properly.

Inspection make be sure, when connect a new spark
plug to the cylinder head be careful the fuel hose.
Measure ignition coil primary voltage using the multi circuit
tester in the following procedure.
e Connect the multi cricuit tester with the peak voltage adaptor
as following :
@) Probe: Black/white lead wire or ground
©) Probe: White/Blue lead wire
NOTE : ,
Do not disconnect the ignition coil lead wires. (white/Blue)
L203 Multi circuit tester set (Digital DC 200 V)
ACAUTION
Before using the multi circuit tester and peak volt adaptor,
be sure to reter to the appropriate instruction manual,
e Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
e Start the engine to crank for a few seconds, and then measure
the ignition coil primary peakvoltage.
e Repeat the above procedure a few times and measure the
highest ignition coil primary peak voltage.
Tester knob indication : voitage (V)
Ignition coil primary peak voltage : More then 150 V
While testing, do not touch the tester probes and spark
plug to prevent receiving an electric shock.
" If the voltage is lower then the specified values, inspect the
ignition coil.
NOTE:
Make sure that all of the couplers are connected properly
and the battery is fully charged.

: Blue with yellow tracer lead wire
Probe : Ground
