VALVE SPRING
Check the springs for strength by measuring their free lengths
and also the force required to compress them. If the limit
indicated below is exceeded by the free length reading or if
the measured force does not fall within the range specified,
replace the spring.
Valve spring free length
Service Limit: 38.69 mm
09900-20201: Vernier calipers
Valve spring tension
Standard: 12.1-13.9 kg/33.7 mm
REASSEMBLY
e Install each valve spring seat.
« Lubricate valve stem seal with oil, and press-fit the seal into
position with a finger tip.
ACAUTION
Do not reuse the stem seals.
Insert the valves, with their stems coated with (SUZUKI MOLY
PASTE) all around and along the full stem length without any
break.
Similarly oil the lip of the stem seal.

ACAUTION
When inserting each valve, take care not to damage the
lip of the stem seal.

NOTE :
Apply engine oil to the shim and tappet before fitting them.
