5-27 CHASSIS
e Press in the steering stern upper race and lower race with
the special tool.
09941-34513 : Steering race installer
NOTE :
Apply SUZUKI SUPER GREASE "A" to the throttle cable end.
STEEL BALL
e Apply grease to the steering races when installing the upper
and lower steel balls.
AH 99000-25010 : SUZUKI SUPER GREASE "A"
Upper 22 pes
Number of steel balls & B
Lower 27 pes
STEERING STEM NUT
¢ Tighten the steering stem nut with special tool, then loosen
it 1/8-1/4 of a turn, NOTE:
AACAUTION
cr 09940-14911 : Steering stem nut wrench
NOTE ;:
This adjustment will vary from motorcycle to motorcycle. Make
sure that the steering turns smoothly and easily, left to right.
STEERING STEM UPPER BRACKET
e Install the steering stem upper bracket.
Install the right and left front forks.
e Tighten the front fork lower clamp bolts.
e Tighten the steering stem head bolt to the specified torque.
(®) Steering stem head bolt : 65 N-m (6.5 kg-m)
e Adjust the height of the inner tube right and left at 35 mm as
shown,
e Tighten the front fork clamp bolts upper and lower to the
specified torque.
Front fork clamp bolt : 33 N-m (3.3 kg-m)
(upper and lower)
e Install the and handlebars.
e Tighten the handlebar mounting bolts @to the specified
torque.
) Handlebar mounting bolt : 28 N-m (2.8 kg-m)
