To resume automatic level control
¢ In record standby mode:
Press the MODE button while the unit is in the
recording standby mode (pause mode) so that
"LINE " or "MIC " indication comes on. Then
press the EDIT/ENTER button so that "A.L.C."
comes on.
¢ When the unit is turned off:
The manual recording level control returns to
automatic level control.
To record with a good level
Play back the loudest part of the source, and
adjust the recording level as high as possible, but
within the level which does not make "OVER"
indication.
When the recording level is set to too low, the
recorded sound will be low. When it is set to too
high, recorded sound will be distorted.
To stop recording temporarily
Press the B&H
button. To resume recording,
press the B> II button again.
To eject the MD
Press the Ml button to stop recording. After the
"TOC-EDIT' indicator goes off, slide the EJECT &/
HOLD switch to "EJECT"
to open the disc
holder.
During recording, you cannot open the disc holder
even if you slide the EJECT &/HOLD
switch to
"EJECT &".
Power turns off automatically
If the unit is left untouched after you have pressed
the I button to stop recording or if you have
recorded an MD to the end, the unit turns off
automatically after about four seconds. The unit
turns on when you press any buttons for operation.
To monitor the sound being recorded
Connect the headphones
to the LINE OUT/
PHONES jack of the main unit. Adjust the volume
with the VOLUME buttons on either the main unit
or the remote control.
Even if you change the
headphones
volume,
the recorded
sound
is
unaffected.
