Note on condensation
If the unit is suddenly moved from a cold place to
a warm one, the rapid temperature change may
Cause moisture to condense on the pickup lens,
resulting in malfunction or playback difficulties.
Should this occur, remove the disc from inside the
unit and leave the unit with its disc holder open for
afew hours. The unit will become operable again.
Note on batteries
Dry cell batteries or the rechargeable battery can
short-circuit or explode if mishandled. Observe
the following and handle the batteries with care.
Rechargeable battery
¢ Do not carry the battery in a pocket or
handbag together with metal objects such
as pendants or key holders.
¢ Do not short-circuit the terminals.
_ © Use only the supplied AC adaptor to recharge
the battery.
¢ Do not disassemble the battery, heat it or put it
in water.
Dry cell batteries
¢ Insert the batteries with the + and — marks
correctly aligned.
¢ Do not use an old battery with new one or mix
different types of batteries together.
¢ Do not disassemble the battery, heat it or put it
in water.
¢ Do not attempt to charge the battery.
¢ If the unit is not to be used for a long period of
time, remove the batteries.
If battery leakage
occurs, remove the fluid from the battery case by
wiping well with a dry soft cloth.
Note on handling a MiniDisc
Since MDs come in a cartridge which protects the
discs inside from fingerprints and dust, you do not
have to be overly careful when handling them.
However, soiled or damaged cartridges can lead
to malfunctions in the unit. Observe the following
tips when handling MDs.
Do not touch the disc inside the cartridge.

Although the disc itself is protected by the cartridge,
do not open its shutter to touch the disc directly. If
the disc inside becomes soiled, itis very difficult to
clean. The cartridge can also be damaged.
