Basic operation for recording
Before recording
¢ Make sure that the HOLD switch is released.
(See page 76.)
¢ When you attempt to adjust the recording level
manually for analog recording, see page 40.
1 Insert a recordable MD.
@) Slide the EJECT & /HOLD switch to
"EJECT & ".
(2) Open the disc holder.
@) Insert the MD with the label side up and
in the direction of the arrow mark. Be
sure to insert fully.

@) Close the disc holder.
2 While pressing down the REC button, press
the B> II button.
The @ REC and BI
indicators appear and
the unit enters the standby mode.

3 Start playing source equipments.
4 Press the B II button to start recording.
In digital recording, the sound is recorded at the
same level as the source. In analog recording,
the recording level is adjusted automatically.

@ Remaining recording time of the MD
5 Press the Mf button to stop recording.
(@® When you press the If button, the "See
you !" indicator appears, and the
information concerning the contents of a
recording (TOC)* is registered.
(2) When the TOC information has been
registered, the total number of recorded
tracks and the total time of recording
are displayed.

* TOC: An abbreviation of Table of Contents

The TOC information functions as a coded index

to the recorded material.
Apart from recorded sound information such as
music, the unit records the TOC information for
an MD which contains the addresses for the
beginnings and endings of the tracks.
