CLEANING AND FLUSHING

Cleaning and Flushing
After each use in salt water or dirty
water, thoroughly clean and rinse the
outboard motor with fresh water.
Touch up any damaged paint, and
coat areas that may rust with Honda
Corrosion Inhibitor, or equivalent.
Lubricate controls with a silicone
spray lubricant.
Do not apply water or corrosion
inhibitor directly to the electrical
components under the engine cover,
such as the AC generator, HO2S
sensor, or the AC generator belt. If
water or corrosion inhibitor
penetrates these components, they
may be damaged. Before applying a
corrosion inhibitor, cover the AC
generator, belt and HO2S sensor with
a protective material to prevent
damage.
