ASW-1240 FILES FOR NETW ARE 286 2.15
Adaptec' s ASW-1240 software supports Net Ware 386v3.1 (see Chapter 6, "Soft-
ware for NetWare 386") and NetWare 286 2.15 and later. The files for NetWare
286 2.15 are found in the \NET286 directory on the ASW-1240 diskette. This
directory contains the following files:

Purpose
These files contain the driver for an AHA-1520/1522
host adapter jumpered to primary port address range
(340h-35Eh).
These files contain the driver for an AHA-1520 /1522
host adapter jumpered to secondary port address range
(140h-15Eh).

INFORMATION ABOUT USING NETGEN
NETGEN.EXE is a Novell program that installs and configures the file server
operating system. The ASW-1240 software installation requires NETGEN. This
section provides basic information about NETGEN. For more detailed informa-
tion, consult the NetWare documentation.
NETGEN can be used in four different hardware configurations:
• standard (floppy diskettes)
• RAMdisk
• network drive
• hard disk

functions similarly in all configurations, except that it reads the
NetW are and ASW-1240 files from different sources. In the standard configura-
tion, NETGEN reads files directly from floppy diskettes. In the other configura-
tions, first you copy the NetW are and ASW-1240 files from the diskettes onto the
appropriate drives. Then NETGEN reads the files from the drives.
