Software for DOS
You can use the AHA-1520/1522 with other host adapters, including the Adaptec
AHA-1540I1542 bus master host adapter. If you change the port address range
of the AHA-1520/1522 to avoid conflict with another host adapter, be sure to
change the port address range of ASPI2DOS as well.
(See
the next section for
more information about changing the port address range.) ASPI200S can coexist
with the Adaptec DOS manager for the AHA-1540/1542.
Configuration Options for ASPI2DOS
There are two groups of options you can specify for ASPI200S:

Group One options can be specified either with ASPI2DOS or with
jumpers on the host adapter. Settings you specify with ASPI200S
override jumper settings, except for
/Qx,
the Interrupt Channel selection.
If you do not specify these options with ASPI200S, the settings are taken
from the jumpers on the host adapter.
Group Two options can only be specified with ASPI200S. If you do not
specify these options, the default values are used. If you use jumpers to
change the port address range of the host adapter, you must also specify
that change with ASPI200S.
You specify options with ASPI2DOS by appending one or more
switches
to the
commands that you add to CONFIG.SYS. The format is as follows:
DEVICE= \ASPI2DOS.SYS /options
The switches that you can use are listed below:
Group One
Switch Function
/C,
IC-
The /C switch (the default) prevents SCSI targets from disconnecting
during command execution. The /C- switch allows SCSI targets to
disconnect during command execution.
/TD
Sets the data transfer mode to 8-bit second-party DMA. If you specify
this option, you cannot also specify /TP.
