The cassette may be jammed. This may occur if the power switch is turned
off or a cassette is opened during printing. Turn off the printer and wait a
few seconds. Turn on the printer and wait until LED 1 is lit solid and LED 2
is off; then, try to remove the cassette.

Media Jams

This section contains suggestions for solving media jam problems.

Preventing Media Jams

Use the following guidelines to prevent most media jams.
Make sure the printer is level and in an appropriate location (see "Printer
Location" in chapter 1).
Make sure media meets the guidelines in "Media Specifications" in chapter 6.
Make sure media is stored following guidelines in "Media Specifications" in
chapter 6.
Make sure media is loaded properly in the selected cassette.

Make sure the correct size media is loaded in the selected cassette or
multipurpose feeder.

Follow the guidelines in chapter 6 for the type of media you are using.

Make sure media is loaded according to the procedures in chapter 6.
Make sure the output tray does not become overfilled.
Remove all media from the cassettes before turning on the printer. Reinsert the
media when the printer's left status light (LED 1) is on and not blinking.
Use XANTÉ supplied toner.
Keep the printer clean (see "Cleaning the Printer" in chapter 7). Use the cassette
cover to prevent dust and debris from settling on media and getting into the printer.

Locating Media Jams

Media jams occur either in the fuser area or in the cassette area (fig. 8. 2).
