Editing equipment profiles
You can later edit and modify all equipment profiles you have created yourself. The provided Kemppi equipment profiles
can only be copied but not edited.
To modify the equipment profiles for non-Kemppi equipment:
1.
Click the Equipment button on the top of the window to open the Equipment view.
2.
Select the equipment profile you want to edit.
>> The Edit equipment profile window opens.

The welding equipment type: power source, wire feeder or com-
pact (power source and wire feeder as one device).
The welding equipment manufacturer (e.g. Kemppi).
The welding equipment model (e.g. X5 Power Source 500).
The time period the ArcValidator waits in the beginning of each
measurement before commencing the actual measuring phase.
With some equipment, a longer stabilization time may be
needed to achieve the stable welding state in terms of welding
current and/or voltage.
This allows a different ignition simulation mode to be set for dif-
ferent equipment. With some equipment, a more aggressive
start is needed to fully initiate the power source in its full oper-
ational welding state against resistor load bank. In addition to
the default setting, the other predefined ignition simulation
mode options are 'strong' and 'aggressive'.
Welding process selection (MIG, TIG, MMA). Up to three welding
processes per each equipment profile can be added. The min-
imum and maximum voltage (V) / current (A) values are spe-
cified for each welding process. (Min/max voltage with MIG,
min/max current with TIG and MMA.)
This is to be checked if the equipment is capable of showing the
actual welding current (A) during welding. When checked,
ArcValidator asks to type in the values shown on the welding
equipment display during measurement.
Note: According to standard EN IEC 60974-14:2018, if the device is
capable of measuring and displaying the actual current, voltage
and/or wire feed speed, the verification method is 'calibration'.
