4.2 Troubleshooting
Below you find a list of some problems that might occur, a likely reason for them, and a suggested solution. If you can-
not solve the problem please contact technicalservice@kemppi.com.
Problem
ArcValidator computer installation
I cannot install the ArcValidator
computer application and get
the following error message.
"System Update Required.
Unable to install or run this
application. This application
requires your system to be
updated to Microsoft Common
Language Runtime Version <ver-
sion number required>.Please
contact your system admin-
istrator."
ArcValidator RC device, ArcValidator L 650 load bank and the welding device
I connected the ArcValidator RC
device to the ArcValidator L 650
load bank, but the RC keeps
restarting.
I connected the ArcValidator RC
device to the ArcValidator L 650
load bank, but the RC does not
start.
ArcValidator RC gives the error
message 'Load bank cannot be
found'
ArcValidator RC gives the error
message 'Connection to welding
machine has been lost', even
though the welding device is con-
nected to the L 650 load bank.
ArcValidator RC gives the error
message 'Bus power dis-
connected', even though it is con-
nected to the L 650 load bank.
I tried to update the ArcValidator
RC, but the device does not work.

Possible reason
ArcValidator installation program
requires that .Net Framework 4 or
newer has been installed on your
computer before installing the
ArcValidator computer applic-
ation.
The battery of the ArcValidator RC
may be empty.
ArcValidator RC may be broken or
the battery may be empty.
ArcValidator RC cannot find the
ArcValidator L 650 load bank.
ArcValidator L 650 load bank has
lost connection to the welding
machine.
ArcValidator RC power supply is
blocked.
It is possible that the ArcValidator
RC update failed.

Recommended action

Connect the ArcValidator RC to the ArcValidator L
650 load bank. Turn on the L 650 load bank and keep
it on for at least an hour. Turn off the L 650 load bank.
Wait for the ArcValidator RC to turn itself off (red
indicator light under the back panel goes out).
Restart the ArcValidator L 650 load bank.
Check that the L 650 load bank is turned on (the
Power On light is on). Check that the cable used to
connect the ArcValidator RC to the ArcValidator L 650
load bank is firmly attached. Check whether there is a
red indicator light under the back panel of the ArcVal-
idator RC. If the light is on, it is likely that the battery
is empty.
Check that the ArcValidator RC is directly connected
to the ArcValidator L 650 load bank. Turn off the L
650 load bank. Wait for the ArcValidator RC to turn
itself off (red indicator light under the back panel
goes out). Restart the ArcValidator L 650 load bank.
Check that the welding device is on.Check that the
cable used to connect the ArcValidator L 650 load
bank to the welding device is firmly attached.Restart
the ArcValidator L 650 load bank.
Check that the L 650 load bank is turned on (the
Power On light is on).Check that the cable used to
connect the ArcValidator RC to the ArcValidator L 650
load bank is firmly attached.
Restart the device. If this does not help, restore the
ArcValidator RC factory settings.
